Do Dermal Fillers pose any side effects?
Certain side effects will occur, including swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site. The swelling can be significant for a small number of patients and it can take up to 3weeks for full healing. It is also expected to have subtle bumps and asymmetries post procedure. It is very important to follow our aftercare guidelines. These are usually temporary and subside within a few weeks.
In very rare cases, if the filler is injected into a blood vessel it may compromise the tissue. This is called a vascular occlusion. As a medical clinic, we have all the equipment, including an ultrasound device to locate an occlusion, and the medication to reverse and dissolve the filler causing the occlusion. It is a rare side effect that can happen during the procedure or the first 48h after treatment. We give extensive aftercare guidelines and we are available to get in touch with, on our emergency phone line.
